    Environmental sustainability values

The very nature of Industrial Environmental Services (IES) work with brownfield sites, including soil contamination, means environmental responsibility is embedded in every aspect of our business operations.

The very nature of our work means environmental responsibility is embedded in every aspect of our business operations.

Whether we’re remediating soil contamination, decommissioning fuel infrastructure or abating asbestos in former industrial land – we are committed to delivering the best environmental outcomes possible.

We also commit to upholding and continuously striving to do better across the following metrics:

    1. Environmental stewardship:

The company is commitment to restoring land which has been impacted by historical practices, such as soil contamination and, in doing so, protecting natural ecosystems. We do our best to minimise overall environmental footprint wherever we can on our projects, for our clients and our organisation.

    2. Circular Economy Principles:

Wherever possible, we do our utmost to minimise waste and recycle what we can for re-use. This includes being flexible with on-site reuse of soils, offsite disposal of waste through to recycling redundant infrastructure materials. We rarely encounter resistance from clients to these principles as they align to their CSR values as well. Recycling materials offers not only environmental benefits but also contribute to triple-bottom line reporting for our clients.

    3. Compliance and Transparency:

Complying with environmental regulations and standards is a foundation of our work. So much so, our performance in meeting regulations and standards on projects is most often documented. The same applies to our own business.

    4. Innovation and Technology

As mentioned above, we are leaders in restoring environmental remediation and we are committed to remaining at the forefront of innovation. We are naturally curious and continually research new technologies and processes that can benefit our clients, the environment and the communities in which we work.

    5. Continuous Improvement:

IES is dedicated to continuously evaluating and improving our environmental sustainability practices.

    6. Stakeholder Engagement:

We know IES doesn’t operate in a stand-alone capacity. Our work and projects often have an equal potential to benefit and impact the environment, our clients and community. We adopt a proactive, collaborative and transparent approach to engaging stakeholders – including clients, consultants, regulatory authorities, communicates. We’ve never been kicked off a job yet!
