Steve McCoach
Executive Director
Steve sets our company’s strategic vision and has done so since the company’s inception. He’s focused on articulating our future direction, our people culture, the adoption of emerging technologies and maintaining Industrial Environmental’s position as a leader in our field.
Matt Smillie
Managing Director
Matt is responsible for the overall direction and daily operation of the business. On any given day, Matt supports his team with tenders, reviews Safe Work Method Statements, oversees financial performance through to providing technical options and outcomes to clients and other stakeholders.
Simon Gracie
Business Development Manager
Simon is responsible for both deepening and expanding our client portfolio. He is at the forefront of understanding new and existing client needs and building relationships. With both a MSc Environmental Pollution Control and BSc (Hons) Applied Chemistry qualifications coupled with 28 years’ experience, Simon knows this industry.
Dung Tran
Project Manager
Dung oversees all our projects, ensuring they are delivered to agreed project plans, budget and timeframes. He interprets each project’s scope, goals and deliverables and co-ordinates all resources to ensure everything runs smoothly, safely and to uphold the quality of work our clients associate with IES.
Ashleigh O’Shea
Accounts & Payroll Officer
Ashleigh plays an incredibly important role in our organisation – managing financial transactions and payroll processes.
She prepares and maintains financial records, including invoices, receipts and payments. With a proficiency in accounting software, Ashleigh makes easy work of recording creditor invoices, payments and reconciliation of statements. Most importantly, she ensures the team is paid each week, processing payroll accurately and on time.

Dung Tran
Project Manager
Dung oversees all our projects, ensuring they are delivered to agreed project plans, budget and timeframes. Travis Mackinnon
Site Supervisor
Travis is responsible for the day-to-day management of all onsite activity, ensuring work by employees and contractors is completed smoothly, efficiently and safely. He brings to the role 25 years industry experience, a Demolition Supervisor’s License and A Class Asbestos Supervisor certification.
Jordan Thomas
Site Supervisor
Jordan is responsible for the day-to-day management of all onsite activity, ensuring work by employees and contractors is completed smoothly, efficiently and safely. His certification as an A Class Asbestos Supervisor provides the necessary knowledge and skills to safety manage asbestos soil abatement and reclassification projects, protecting our workers and the environment.
Alexander Toy
Site Supervisor
Alexander is responsible for the day-to-day management of all onsite activity, ensuring work by employees and contractors is completed smoothly, efficiently and safety. He also performs the excavation works which are critical for preparing and finishing each site.
Michael Monaghan (Jex)
Site Supervisor
Jex is responsible for the day-to-day management of all onsite activity. The team is in good hands under Jex’s watch. He ensures the work of our employees and contractors is completed smoothly, efficiently and safely. He brings to the role 30 years’ experience in site supervision, earth moving and transportation.
Joel Baron
Operator / Site Supervisor
Joel works hand in glove with our project managers, overseeing site works and contractors to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and safely. He also performs day-to-day onsite activities such as operating machinery including excavators, compaction rollers and articulated haul trucks.
Noah De Amyand
Operator / Site Supervisor
Noah describes himself as both practical and mechanically minded. This translates to a natural knack for problem solving. He knows how to operate a wide range of heavy machinery (from excavators and bulldozers through to graders, compactors and water trucks) with many years’ experience and relevant licenses.
Ryan Maruff
Excavator Operator
Ryan started his career as a labourer, gaining firsthand experience across various aspects of the industry. His immediate fascination with operating machinery led him to pursue further training, steering away from manual tasks. Today, Ryan is a self-taught and licensed Excavator Operator, known for his skill in precision trims.
